Let Your Flute Take Flight! Join us on Saturday, October 10, 2026 for a morning celebration of flute music, performance, and community! The Syrodesy Flute Festival brings together young flutists grades K-6th for a fun and inspiring event featuring a performance competition, interactive concert, awards ceremony, and opportunities to connect with fellow musicians. Whether you choose to compete or simply attend as a festival participant, there is something for every flutist!

FAQs
Do I have to compete to attend?
No! Competition is optional. Students (and parents) are welcome to attend simply to enjoy the festival experience, interactive concert, and community of fellow flutists. Students not competing are welcome to come at 11:3oam for refreshments before the interactive concert.
What are the competition rules?
1. Choose a piece of your choice to perform. It must be eight measures in length, but that is in the only stipulation.
2. A piano collaborator (accompanist) is required and each student is required to arrange for their own piano collaborator.
Are scales required?
Scales are not required at this competition.
What will the competition experience be like? This is a closed audition with you in a room with your piano collaborator, and two judges. They will be filling out adjudication forms while you play so you'll receive feedback on your piece. Simply play your piece and leave the room! It's that easy! This is designed to be a very approachable way for students to learn what it's like to participate in flute competitions.
Does my parent have to pay the registration fee?
No, only the flutist is required to pay the registration fee.
